An Evening at the Chiala Estate

The Chiala Estate in Morgan Hill

On behalf of the Foundation Board of Trustees, the Foundation staff, and the Chiala Family, thank you to all who attended and assisted with An Evening at the Chiala Estate, held on July 16th, 2010. This amazing event was well attended by over 350 guests, and raised over $80,000 to benefit the Saint Louise Regional Hospital two-campus development project.

Guests enjoyed a beautiful evening, sampling delicious foods, fine wines from ten local wineries, and the music of Anna Maria Flechero and her band. One highlight of the evening was the exciting game, “Heads or Tails,” which was won by Saint Louise Regional Hospital’s own Mary Lou Roach. She is the proud winner of a weekend stay at the Seascape Resort, which includes dinner at Sanderling’s Restaurant and a beach bonfire party for 5. Congratulations Mary Lou!

Our live auction, which featured 12 wonderful items, collected over $39,000! A huge thank you to Frank Sunseri, our amazing auctioneer. Wrapping up the festivities, the winning ticket was pulled for our grand prize: a 58-bottle wine refrigerator stocked with fine wines donated from private collections. Congratulations to Jim and Janice Jones, our lucky winners!

This successful event could not have been pulled off without the assistance of over 50 hardworking volunteers. Special thanks to the Chiala Family for hosting the event, Mary Ann Rodriguez for coordinating the volunteers, Martin Laguna for taking such beautiful photos throughout the evening, Rita Fisher for chairing the event, Hope Silva for co-chairing, and our other committee members: George and Alice Chiala, Patty Sebald, Marilyn Librers, Bob and Fran Lauridsen, and Erin Monroe. We are greatly looking forward to building on our success for next year!
